Theatre Blog: Why Shakespeare and not Middleton?:  An interesting article by director Alex Cox on the ever-interesting Guardian Theatre Blog on why Shakespeare is more popular than his Jacobean contemporaries.  I don’t necessarily agree with all he says (particularly about Shakespeare’s conservatism and role as a mouthpiece for The Man), but it’s a lively read.
